: Land grant orders under rehabilitation projects in Pune district will be uploaded on the collectorate website to usher in transparency.
Initially, the orders issued from January this year will be uploaded under a pilot project, Pune district rehabilitation officer (DRO) Bharat Waghmare told TOI. “I had taken up this initiative in Solapur as well when I was the DRO there between 2011 and 2013. In Pune, it will be a pilot project, for which I have been allocated Rs 5 lakh under the district development funds for special projects. I plan to upload all kinds of orders pertaining to rehabilitation on the collectorate website as it would make the process transparent,’’ Waghmare said, adding that the orders would be uploaded once the land was awarded to the beneficiaries.
With over 25,800 beneficiaries in Pune district to be granted land of nearly 2,300 hectares for over 25 projects, the online process will help track the orders and the details of the individuals, while eliminating any confusion between department officials. “Grant of land is given under various acts of rehabilitation. It is difficult, but not impossible, and we can commence it this year. The remaining orders can be scanned later and subsequently uploaded,’’ Waghmare said.
In Solapur, Waghmare was able to upload nearly 8.5 lakh documents, giving details of beneficiaries, mutation extracts, maps and panchanama. “Some orders had to be scanned and uploaded,” he said.
Senior officials from the rehabilitation department conceded that they were lagging in uploading the orders online. “The alleged Shirur land scam should be the trigger for the state government to accept this project,” they said.
In the investigation of the Shirur land scam, the police have detected 44 cases of illegal transfer of total 60 acres of land at Shirur of the 2300 hectares meant for rehabilitation of the Temghar dam project-affected farmers.
According to the police officers, the transfers were made in favour of a land developer in a criminal conspiracy involving talathis, clerks and private individuals, under which forged orders and documents were used.
